Isang lalaki ang napakagaling na talento at napahanga ang lahat dahil ang materyales nya ay patapon ba tsinelas
Resourcefulness is a fantastic virtue to have, that could open countless doors of opportunities for anyone who works hard. A resourceful and creative mind is a powerful tool and when used right, it could greatly benefit a hardworking person. Take this man’s case for example. His resourcefulness earned him praise and popularity on social media for transforming old rubber slippers into little action figures.
Give Elmer Padilla an old slipper, and he will hand it back to you as an impressive action figure. Sounds impossible, right? But this is his daily routine in the streets of Imus, Cavite. Elmer wakes up early in the morning to go sit in a corner all day. He devotes all of his energy and effort in creating mini action figures out of the rubber from old slippers.
It takes talent and whole lot of creativity to create something special out of an old object. Elmer certainly proves that he has a knack for creative projects. With the use of cutters, a pair of scissors, rubber slippers, and his quick hands – he slowly transforms old beat-up flipflops into quaint new toys.
This is what Elmer Padilla does for a living. Everyday, he sits in the same spot and cuts away while his creations are displayed for sale. Sometimes, one or two passersby would stop and watch him work quietly. Many onlookers have been amazed at Elmer’s creativity and skills.
Soon enough, more people stopped by to watch this craftsman work. One of them is a Facebook user who shared Elmer’s story. Apparently, he was walking on the street when he saw people flocking over Elmer’s spot. He was amazed, so he took a photo and uploaded it in social media.
“Ang galing ni kuya guys! hangang hanga ang mga taong nakapaligid sa kanyang mga gawa. Sa pamamagitan ng mga patapong tsenilas nakakabuo sya ng mga cartoon character na robot, Transformer vs Hellboy at may mga sarili po syang composition na robot na walang gayahan.”
The poster also shared a bit of Elmer’s background – his life outside these slipper toys. He’s from Catbalogan, Northern Samar and he came to Manila to seek his fortune. Currently, he sustains himself by working in a construction site and making recycled action figures in his spare time.
As expected, people in social media were also blown away by his creativity. The Facebook post instantly went viral. As of writing this, the post reached an astounding 11k likes and more than 2k shares. Netizens from all over the country have voiced their praises and compliments for Elmer’s handcrafted work.
He rightfully deserves this attention, because it’s not every day that you get to meet a man like him.
Were you inspired by this man’s creativity too? Spread the positive vibes across by sharing this with your friends and family.
