A stray bullet fatally hit a regional government employee visiting the main campus of the Mindanao State University (MSU) and wounded his companion on Thursday morning, September 7.
Marvin Ablando, 44, is a Cotabato-based employee of the Civil Service Commission (CRC), according to local government spokesman Zia Alonto Adiong.
Ablando was brought to the Amai Pakpak Hospital and died there.
The caliber 50 bullet hit Ablando after grazing his female companion, fellow CRC employee Sandrah Usman. She reportedly suffered minor wounds.
It's the latest incident of stray bullets hitting civilians outside the battle zone in Marawi.
Another resident inside the MSU campus was hit last week and suffered serious injuries.
